Drywall Repair & Install

Drywall, finished so the patch disappears.

Holes, settling cracks, water damage, full new installs. We patch, texture-match, and paint — one crew, no separate trades, no telling where the seam was.

I · What we do

Drywall is half of what we do.

Drywall isn't an afterthought we bolt onto painting. It's half the business. Twenty-five years of patching settling cracks, replacing water-damaged sheets, and doing full new installs across Palm Beach County. The painters who 'also do drywall' aren't who you call — you call the people who actually finish for a living.

What separates a good drywall job from a visible patch is texture matching. Knockdown, orange peel, smooth-finish — each takes a different hand and a different tool. We get the patch flush, mud it, sand it, and texture it to match what's already on the wall so the eye can't find where the repair was.

Then we paint over it. Same crew, same day if it's small, same week if it's a full sheet. One bill. One person responsible. No coordinating a drywall trade with a painter and praying they show up the same week.

II · What we fix

From a doorknob hole to a whole new room.

Big or small, we patch, finish, and paint.

Holes & doorknob dents

Anything from a fist-sized hole to a TV-mount tear-out. Patched, mudded, sanded, textured, painted.

Settling cracks

The hairline cracks that show up at corners, doorframes, and over windows as houses settle. We don't just paint over them — we cut them out, mesh them, mud them, and finish them so they don't come back.

Water damage

Roof leak, AC overflow, plumbing failure. We cut out the damaged drywall, replace it, finish, prime, and paint — matching the surrounding texture exactly.

Popcorn ceiling damage

Chunks knocked off, water stains, tape failures. We patch the popcorn or scrape and re-finish. (See full popcorn removal if you want it gone for good.)

Full new install

New walls, new rooms, garage conversions, additions. Hung, taped, mudded, textured, primed. We hand off either a paint-ready surface or a finished painted wall — your call.

Texture matching

Knockdown, orange peel, smooth, lace, popcorn. The art of the trade — getting the patch invisible. This is why we don't sub it out.

Tape & mud finishing

Fresh drywall hung by another contractor and you need it finished out? We can come in just for tape and mud. Smooth finishes (Level 5) included.

Soundproofing & insulation

Walls between bedrooms, home offices, music rooms. We can install batt insulation and resilient channel during the drywall stage to drop the sound transfer.

III · How we work

Cut, patch, finish, match.

01

Walk-through & estimate

We come look. Small repairs we sometimes quote on the phone. Anything larger, we walk it — check for water damage source, structural issues, or anything else you need to know.

02

Cut out the bad

Damaged drywall gets cut back to studs — cleanly, in a square, so the patch sits flush. Wet drywall, mold-damaged drywall, or anything compromised gets fully removed, not patched over.

03

Patch & tape

New sheet cut to fit, screwed to studs, seams taped with paper or mesh tape, joint compound applied in three coats with proper dry time between.

04

Texture match

This is the trade. We test-spray on a scrap, dial in the right texture — orange peel, knockdown, popcorn — until it matches the surrounding wall. Then apply, let it set, knock down if needed.

05

Prime & paint

Drywall dust and joint compound get primed first — fresh mud sucks paint and shows through if you skip primer. Then two coats of finish, blended into the existing wall color.

06

Walkthrough

We walk it with you, look at the patch from different angles in different light. If the eye can find it, we keep working until it can't.

IV · Why us

Why people call us for drywall.

01

Texture match is the whole game.

Anyone can patch a hole. Making it disappear under the existing texture is the skill. We've been doing it for 25 years.

02

We paint after.

Most drywall guys hand off a textured patch and you find a separate painter. We finish, prime, and paint. One trade, one bill.

03

Water damage handled right.

If the source is still leaking, we'll tell you to fix that first. If mold's involved, we'll flag it. We don't bury problems behind fresh drywall.

04

Small jobs welcome.

Most drywall companies won't quote a single hole. We will. A few small repairs the same day as another job — happy to do it.

V · PBC homes specifically

Florida drywall has its own problems.

Settling cracks at door frames as the slab moves. Water damage from a hurricane that worked its way down the wall. The Chinese drywall scare from 2005–2008 (still occasionally found). Pop-out screws as wood frames respond to humidity swings. Palm Beach County houses have specific drywall failure modes — we know what we're looking at.

1960s and 70s ranches in Greenacres and Lake Worth often have plaster instead of drywall — we work with that too, blending plaster repairs into existing surfaces. Newer construction in Wellington and Royal Palm Beach is straight drywall on metal studs — faster patches, but specific texture patterns we recognize.

Whatever's on your wall, we've matched it before. Bring us the photo and the address and we'll tell you what we're walking into.

VI · FAQ

Common questions.

How much does drywall repair cost in Palm Beach County?

Small holes (under 6 inches) typically run $150–$300 per patch including paint. Larger repairs — water damage, full sheet replacement — range $400–$1,500 depending on size and access. Full new installs are quoted by square foot. We give a flat written estimate after looking at it.

How do you match texture on a patch?

We identify the existing texture (knockdown, orange peel, smooth, popcorn), test-spray on a scrap board to dial in the spray pattern and consistency, then apply to the patch. Knockdown gets knocked down with a wide blade once it sets. Orange peel and popcorn are sprayed and left. The match should be invisible at normal viewing distance.

Do you paint after the patch?

Yes — that's part of what makes us different. We prime over fresh joint compound (it absorbs paint) and then apply two coats of finish, blending into the existing wall color. Most drywall companies stop at the patch and you have to find a painter separately.

What about water-damaged drywall?

If the leak is fixed, we cut out the damaged section back to studs, dry the cavity if needed, replace with new drywall, finish, and paint. If the leak is still active, we'll tell you to get that addressed first — we don't paint over a problem. If there's mold, we may recommend a remediation specialist before we come in.

Can you do a whole new drywall install?

Yes. New walls, additions, garage conversions, basement build-outs — we hang, tape, mud, texture, prime, and paint. We handoff either a paint-ready surface (Level 4 or 5 finish) or a fully painted wall, your choice.

How long does a drywall repair take?

Small patches (a doorknob hole, a settling crack) can be one-day jobs — cut, patch, mud, sand, texture, prime, paint. Larger repairs span 2–4 days because joint compound needs proper dry time between coats. Full installs depend on square footage.

Do you do tape and mud only, without painting?

Yes. If your drywall was hung by a contractor and you need it finished out (Level 4 or Level 5 smooth finish), we can come in just for the tape and mud. We can also leave it primed and paint-ready for your painter.
